If you’re looking for free NYM tokens, you’re not alone. Nym Technologies has run multiple airdrops to grow its privacy-focused network, and while most campaigns are closed, there’s still one active path - and it’s tied to a major exchange. Here’s what actually happened, what’s still possible, and how to avoid scams pretending to offer NYM rewards.
What Is NYM and Why Does It Have Airdrops?
NYM is the native token of Nym, a privacy network built to hide your online activity from surveillance. Unlike regular VPNs, Nym uses a decentralized mixnet - a network of nodes that scramble and reroute your data so even powerful attackers can’t trace where you’re going online. Think of it like sending a letter through 10 different mailrooms before it reaches its final destination. No one knows the full path.
To make this network work, Nym needs people to run nodes. But running a node costs money and tech skills. So instead of paying them directly, Nym gives out NYM tokens as rewards. Airdrops are how they get early users to join, test the network, and spread the word - without spending millions on ads.
Major NYM Airdrops That Already Happened
Between 2023 and 2024, Nym ran at least five major airdrops. Each had different rules, platforms, and reward structures. Here’s what’s already over:
- Galxe Airdrop (Sept 2023): 2.5 million NYM tokens were split among participants who completed tasks on Galxe - joining Discord, following Nym on Twitter, signing up via email, and joining a Telegram group. You had to claim the "Shipyard Early Bird" role in Discord. Deadline: September 24, 2023. No extensions. All tokens distributed.
- CoinGecko Raffle (Early 2023): 1,000 winners got $10 worth of NYM each. To enter, you needed 500 CoinGecko candies (earned by using the site). Winners had to complete KYC and link a wallet. The campaign ended with all 1,000 claims processed. If you didn’t win, you missed it.
- OKX BETH Holder Campaign (July 2023): If you staked ETH on OKX and held at least 0.1 BETH (Beacon ETH) for 15 days during the campaign, you qualified. Snapshots were taken daily. Rewards were calculated based on your average holding. This one was for active stakers - not casual users.
- CoinMarketCap Airdrop (May 2024): Only 200 winners shared 80 NYM tokens total. That’s about 0.4 NYM per person. It was a small, quick campaign aimed at CoinMarketCap’s user base. Closed after 15 days.
All of these are now closed. No more claims. No more extensions. If someone on Twitter or Discord says they’re giving out "remaining NYM" from these campaigns, it’s a scam.
The Only Active NYM Airdrop in 2025: Bybit
As of October 31, 2025, the only active NYM airdrop is tied to Bybit, one of the world’s top 10 crypto exchanges.
This isn’t a direct token giveaway. It’s a two-part reward system:
- $100,000 Prize Pool: If you’re a Bybit user and complete the campaign tasks (sign up, verify your account, follow Nym’s official channels, and complete a quiz), you’re entered to win a share of $100,000 in NYM tokens. The first 800 eligible participants get the biggest slice. Each gets a proportional share based on total participants.
- Extra $100,000 Bonus: If NYM gets listed on Bybit (which is still pending), then an additional $100,000 in NYM is distributed to everyone who voted for the listing.
Here’s the catch: you don’t get tokens yet. You get a chance to earn them - but only if:
- You complete the campaign before the deadline (no official end date yet, but don’t wait)
- Bybit approves NYM for listing
- You pass KYC and link a wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens
This is the last real shot at earning NYM for free. If NYM doesn’t list on Bybit, the bonus $100,000 disappears. But the first $100,000 pool still goes to participants who completed the tasks.
How to Join the Bybit NYM Airdrop Right Now
If you want a shot at NYM tokens, here’s exactly what to do:
- Go to bybit.com and create an account if you don’t have one.
- Complete identity verification (KYC). You can’t claim tokens without this.
- Visit the Bybit Airdrop page - search "NYM Airdrop" in their promotions section.
- Follow Nym’s official Twitter and join their Discord server. Links are on the campaign page.
- Complete the short quiz about Nym’s privacy tech. It’s basic - no crypto jargon needed.
- Link your Ethereum-compatible wallet (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc.) to your Bybit account.
That’s it. You’re now in the pool. The first 800 people to finish get the best chance at rewards. There’s no cap on total participants, but early finishers get priority in the reward split.
Token distribution happens within 30 days after NYM is listed on Bybit. If listing fails, you still get your share of the $100,000 - but no bonus.
What Happens After You Get NYM Tokens?
Once you receive NYM, you can:
- Hold it as a long-term bet on privacy tech
- Stake it to run a mixnode and earn more NYM over time
- Use it to pay for privacy services on the Nym network
- Sell it on exchanges like Bybit, Gate.io, or KuCoin
Running a mixnode requires 1,000 NYM as collateral and a decent internet connection. It’s not for beginners, but it’s the real way to support the network and earn passive income. Most airdrop recipients start here - they get a small amount, then buy more to stake.
Red Flags: NYM Airdrop Scams to Avoid
Since NYM has a history of big airdrops, scammers are active. Watch out for:
- "Send 0.1 ETH to claim your NYM" - Real airdrops never ask you to send crypto to claim rewards.
- "Limited-time offer! 10,000 NYM for free!" - Past airdrops gave out fractions of a token. This is fake.
- Phishing links - Fake airdrop pages look like Bybit or Galxe. Always type the URL yourself.
- Discord mods asking for wallet keys - Legit teams will never ask for your private key or seed phrase.
Only trust official channels: nymtech.net, the Bybit airdrop page, and Nym’s verified Twitter and Discord.
What’s Next for NYM?
Nym Technologies isn’t stopping. They’re building tools for developers, expanding node networks, and working with privacy regulators. More airdrops are likely - but they’ll be tied to new partnerships, not repeat campaigns.
If you missed the Galxe or CoinGecko drops, don’t regret it. The Bybit campaign is your last real shot. It’s not guaranteed, but it’s the only one still open. And if you get NYM, you’re not just holding a token - you’re helping build a more private internet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the NYM airdrop still open in 2025?
Yes, but only one is active: the Bybit campaign. All other airdrops from Galxe, CoinGecko, OKX, and CoinMarketCap ended in 2023 or 2024. If you didn’t join those, you can’t claim tokens from them anymore.
Do I need to pay to join the NYM airdrop?
No. Legitimate NYM airdrops never require you to send crypto, pay fees, or buy anything. The Bybit campaign only asks you to sign up, complete tasks, and link your wallet - all free.
Can I get NYM tokens without using Bybit?
Not for free. The only way to earn NYM without buying it is through the Bybit campaign. Other airdrops are closed. You can buy NYM on exchanges like Bybit, Gate.io, or KuCoin, but there are no other active free distributions.
How many NYM tokens will I get from the Bybit airdrop?
It depends on how many people complete the campaign. The first $100,000 in NYM is split among participants - the first 800 get the largest shares. If 10,000 people join, each gets roughly 0.01 NYM. If only 1,000 join, each gets about 0.1 NYM. The exact amount is calculated after the campaign ends.
What if NYM doesn’t get listed on Bybit?
You still get your share of the $100,000 prize pool - as long as you completed the tasks. The extra $100,000 bonus only triggers if NYM is listed. But your participation reward is guaranteed.
Can I join the airdrop if I live in the USA?
Yes, unlike past campaigns, the Bybit airdrop does not exclude U.S. residents. However, you must still complete KYC and comply with Bybit’s regional rules. Always check the official campaign page for updates.

November 1, 2025 AT 23:13This Bybit thing is a trap. They’re gonna list NYM, then dump it the next day and vanish. Been there, seen that with 5 other ‘guaranteed’ airdrops. They want your data, not your privacy. Don’t fall for it.

November 3, 2025 AT 00:47Just did the Bybit steps! Took me 12 minutes total - signed up, did KYC, followed the Discord, did the quiz (it was literally ‘what does Nym do?’ lol), and linked my MetaMask. Fingers crossed I’m in the first 800. If you’re reading this and haven’t done it yet, just do it. Free crypto is free crypto. 🙏

November 4, 2025 AT 18:29Let’s be real - if you’re still chasing airdrops in 2025, you’re either a degenerate or a masochist. NYM’s tech is solid, but the airdrop circus? Pure gamification bait. The $100K pool? A marketing stunt to inflate Bybit’s user metrics. And don’t even get me started on the ‘bonus’ if it lists - that’s a 90% chance of vaporware. You’re not building the future, you’re feeding the machine.

November 6, 2025 AT 15:47I ran a mixnode for 8 months last year. Spent $120 on electricity, bought 1,200 NYM as collateral, and made back about 300 NYM in rewards - not bad for passive income. But here’s the thing: you need to actually understand the network. It’s not just ‘buy and hold.’ The mixnet routes traffic through multiple nodes, encrypting each hop. It’s like Tor, but decentralized and incentivized. If you get NYM from this airdrop, don’t just sell it. Stake it. Even 100 tokens can get you started. I’m not a dev, just a guy with a Raspberry Pi in his closet. You can do this too.
Also - ignore the scammers. If someone DMs you saying ‘send 0.05 ETH to claim,’ block them. Real airdrops don’t ask for funds. Ever.

November 7, 2025 AT 04:39so like… i signed up for bybit but i think i messed up the wallet link?? now i cant find the airdrop page again. help??

November 9, 2025 AT 00:33Don’t panic, DeeDee! Go to Bybit > Promotions > Search ‘NYM Airdrop’ - it’s under ‘Active Campaigns.’ If you already did KYC, you’re good. Just make sure your wallet is connected to your Bybit account (not your phone, the web wallet). And if you’re on mobile, switch to desktop mode - the page glitches on phone browsers. I did it twice because I was rushing. You got this! 💪

November 10, 2025 AT 13:57Just wanted to say - this is the most honest crypto guide I’ve seen in years. No hype. No ‘moon’ nonsense. Just facts. 🙌 Thank you for writing this. I’m from Nigeria, and honestly, most crypto content here is pure scammy clickbait. This? This feels like someone actually cares about privacy, not just profit. I’ve already shared it with my local tech group. Keep doing this.

November 10, 2025 AT 17:41Ugh. Another ‘privacy’ token that needs you to hand over your government ID to a centralized exchange. The irony is thicker than a Bitcoin block. You want to hide your traffic? Then why are you giving Bybit your passport photo? This isn’t privacy - it’s performative resistance with KYC.
Phil Higgins
November 10, 2025 AT 22:03Genevieve raises a valid point - but it misses the bigger picture. Yes, KYC is a compromise. But if you want to use a service that’s accessible to non-techies, you accept trade-offs. The alternative? Running a node from your basement with a static IP and firewall rules. Most people won’t do that. So this airdrop is the gateway - it gets people into the ecosystem. Once they hold NYM, they’ll learn. Once they learn, they’ll demand decentralization. Progress is messy.
Jessica Hulst
November 11, 2025 AT 17:29So let me get this straight - we’re being told to trust a centralized exchange to distribute a token built to destroy centralized surveillance? That’s like handing your keys to a locksmith who also runs a burglary ring. The Nym network is beautiful. The airdrop strategy? A tragic farce. We’re being sold a revolution… with a credit card form.
Maybe that’s the real innovation - the cognitive dissonance is the feature, not the bug.

November 12, 2025 AT 08:16wait so if i do the quiz wrong do i still get entered? i think i picked the wrong answer about mixnets lol
Malinda Black
November 13, 2025 AT 03:59You’re fine, Eli. The quiz is just to make sure you’re not a bot. It’s not a test. They don’t grade you. Just do your best. You’re already ahead of 90% of people who just copy-paste links into their wallets hoping for magic.

November 16, 2025 AT 15:37Hey everyone - I just finished the airdrop! Took me 15 mins, no problem. I’m not a tech guy but I followed the steps and it worked. I know some of you are scared or think it’s fake, but I promise you - if you do it, you’re not losing anything. No money, no risk. Just time. And if you get even 0.05 NYM? That’s free. I’m telling you - do it. You’ll thank yourself later. 🙏
Josh Serum
November 17, 2025 AT 11:26Bro, you’re all missing the point. This isn’t about privacy. It’s about control. Nym wants you to think you’re free, but you’re just another node in their network. They’re not building a better internet - they’re building a better way to monetize your attention. You’re not a user. You’re a product. And the airdrop? It’s the bait. The real profit comes when you start staking and they take a cut of your rewards. You think you’re winning? You’re being farmed.
Kaela Coren
November 19, 2025 AT 10:55Interesting. The technical architecture of Nym’s mixnet is sound - it uses Sphinx packet format, layered encryption, and bandwidth obfuscation to prevent traffic correlation. The economic model is less elegant - airdrops as user acquisition are a legacy Web2 tactic. The real test will be whether node operators can sustain profitability without token inflation. That’s the true metric of success, not how many people signed up on Bybit.
Debby Ananda
November 20, 2025 AT 02:22Oh sweetie. You think you’re so clever for doing the airdrop. But did you even read the whitepaper? Or are you just here because someone said ‘free money’? Nym is for people who understand entropy and cryptographic primitives - not for people who link MetaMask because a Discord mod said ‘click here.’ You’re not part of the movement. You’re just noise.

November 21, 2025 AT 20:32I am from India. I try to join Bybit but they say my country not supported. But post say USA only. So who is right? I am confused. Also, I think this is fake. Why so many people say it is real? Maybe all are bot? I think I will not join. Better to buy coffee.
