On behalf of the American Peptide Society, we are pleased to invite you to the 20th jubilee of the American Peptide Symposium, “Peptides for Youth” to be held in Montreal, Canada from June 26 to 30, 2007. This symposium will serve to remember the accomplishments of society members since Professors Saul Lande and Boris Weinstein organized the First American Peptide Symposium at Yale University in 1968. Moreover, “Peptides for Youth” will strive to attract Young Investigators to participate in a Meeting that recognizes and highlights their achievements, and incites their interests with a stimulating scientific program, featured in a vibrant city, Montreal. Young Investigators will be encouraged to participate actively in all aspects of the scientific program; therefore, in order to reduce the burden on Young Investigator participation, affordable, centrally located accommodations have been reserved.

The venue for this Symposium will be at the Palais des Congrès which is centrally located downtown, in walking distance to most of the hallmarks of Montreal: the old city, the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal , the Montréal Museum of Fine Art , the Place des Arts, home of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the shopping districts and the hotel accommodations. The night-life and quality of entertainment in Montreal are world renown and by holding the Meeting around the time of the Canadian Grand Prix and Montreal Jazz Festival, participants can enjoy mixing quality Science with fast motorcar racing, great music and fun. Bilingual, multi-cultural and safe, Montreal offers outstanding facilities, hotels, restaurants and entertainment centers for a memorable meeting.

La belle province of Quebec is an ideal place for a vacation in June and July. Expecting that many will wish to combine their summer vacation with this symposium, in collaboration with Tourism Montreal and Tourism Quebec, we are planning an accompanying person program for those interested in exploring the culture, history and outdoor activities of this beautiful region before, during and after the time of the meeting.

A leading educational center and a home for scientific innovation, Montréal ranks highly among the world’s top technology hubs with strengths in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and aerospace. For the 2007 American Peptide Society Meeting in Montreal, we intend to employ these resources to put together an outstanding scientific program featuring contributions from leading experts in the various fields of Peptide Science. By coupling young potential energy with the spirit of the pioneers of peptide science in North America’s oldest and most cosmopolitan city, we welcome you to enjoy a peptide product of highest quality.
